aXcelerate has a new CEO – Meet David O'Rourke

aXcelerate is pleased to announce a new CEO to head the growth, innovation and values of our business.

David O’Rourke joins the aXcelerate family as our new CEO with a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience gained from an incredible global career across engineering, design and software. Previously, David was CEO of Brisbane SaaS company Nightlife Music, and has also held senior roles with Omnifone (UK), Cribb Media (AU) and OliveX (AU).

aXcelerate Founders Reay Mackay (Chairman) and Julie Verner-Mackay (Director) will remain highly involved in the business, focusing on their directorship positions on the aXcelerate Board.

David’s passion for an exceptional client experience paired with his love for technology has allowed him to help many organisations across the world achieve their business goals.

This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for aXcelerate and the Board is looking forward to working with David to continue to deliver a product and service that our clients love.

aXcelerate’s purpose, vision and HEART values remain at the core of our business. Sharing our vision, David is looking forward to enhancing our client relationships and strengthening the role aXcelerate plays in the education sector.

Commencing his appointment, David said he was thrilled to be taking on the role.

“aXcelerate is going through a true growth spike, and that’s an exciting time for me to join, because that’s what I love doing...technology evolution, process evolution and the customer journey,” he said.  

“For me, the next few years are about taking a business that’s on a very significant growth trajectory and really driving that to the next level with skills that I bring.

“My job as CEO is to be across all the different facets of business – let the people here with the experience and domain knowledge drive, and just have me steering – such that we can get to the right places more efficiently, based on the skills I can help unlock in the team.”

Recently, VM Learning/aXcelerate celebrated its 32nd year in business. aXcelerate has grown much since its beginnings as an RTO, and many of our clients have grown with us.

This exciting change in leadership is aXcelerate’s next big step to continue to support our clients reach the next level of success for their businesses.
